SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Standards of Learning Assessment Advisory Commission. Creates the 14-member Standards of Learning Assessment Advisory Commission (the Commission) as a legislative agency of the Commonwealth. Comprised of one Senator, three Delegates, and 10 citizen members including educators and administrators, testing experts, and citizens at large, the Commission is to examine and make recommendations regarding any revisions to and ongoing implementation of the Standards of Accreditation for public schools, the Standards of Learning, the use and application of statewide and divisionwide student assessments, and other matters related to the delivery of quality education in the public schools of the Commonwealth.
The Commission may establish advisory committees composed of persons with expertise in the matters under consideration by the Commission.
