SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Court-appointed interpreter fees. Provides that the compensation of an interpreter appointed by the court for a non-English-speaking criminal defendant shall be fixed by the court and may be assessed as part of the costs. Currently, it may not be assessed as a cost and is paid by the Commonwealth in every case. This bill was incorporated into HB 1584.
