SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Unemployment benefits. Increases the amount of wages that an individual may earn from a part-time job, without having his weekly unemployment benefit reduced, from $25 to one-half of his weekly benefit amount. If an individual earns more than such amount, his weekly benefit amount is reduced by the amount his wages exceed one-half of his weekly benefit amount. The bill also provides that an individual will be deemed unemployed if he earns wages from a part-time job that are less than one and one-half times his weekly benefit amount. Currently, he is deemed not to be unemployed if his part-time wages exceed his weekly benefit amount.
