SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Secretary of Administration; creation of a teleworking pilot program. Requires the Secretary of Administration, in cooperation with the Secretary of Technology, to establish a teleworking pilot program to allow state employees to work at locations other than state offices through the use of telecommunication technology. The Secretary shall adopt a teleworking policy and guidelines necessary to establish and carry out the purposes of the pilot program and shall provide staff to manage the operations of the pilot program. The bill provides the method for participation of executive branch agencies and requires the Secretary to form an advisory committee made up of representatives of each secretariat and agency head from executive branch agencies selected to participate in the pilot program. The bill requires the Secretary to report to the Governor and the General Assembly by October 1, 2003, on the status of the pilot program. The bill further provides that the pilot program will terminate on October 1, 2003. This bill was incorporated into HB 1713.
