SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia; election by the General Assembly. Requires that the Chief Justice be elected for a term of six years by the majority vote of the House and Senate. Currently, the Chief Justice is the justice with the longest service on the Court and holds that office without the restriction of a term.
