SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Crime Victim Compensation. Allows the filing of claims by victims of crimes to be delayed indefinitely by the Workers' Compensation Commission for good cause shown. Currently, such claims must generally be filed one year after the occurrence of the crime and the Commission may extend that to two years for good cause shown. The bill also allows the Commission to indefinitely extend the time for review of the Commission's decision. Under current law, the claimant may ask for such a review within 45 days and the Commission may extend that to two years for good cause shown.
