Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.1-27.3:1 as follows:

§ 2.1-27.3:1. Display of the POW/MIA flag.

The Governor shall annually issue a proclamation requiring state officials to display the POW/MIA flag on all state-owned or operated public buildings on the following days as a symbol of the state’s concern for Americans who were prisoners of war or missing in action or still remain unaccounted for:

Armed Forces Day – the third Saturday in May.

Memorial Day – the last Monday in May.

Flag Day – June 14.

Independence Day – July 4.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day – the third Friday in September.

Veterans Day – November 11.
