Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.1-563.40:1 as follows:

§ 2.1-563.40:1. Nonstock corporation to assist in the development of GIS data.

The Department of Technology Planning is hereby authorized to establish a nonstock corporation under Chapter 10 (§ 13.1-801 et seq.) of Title 13.1 as an instrumentality to assist the Department and the Division in the development and acquisition of geographic data and statewide base map data.
