Celebrating the life of Madeline B. Cadd.

WHEREAS, Madeline B. Cadd of Roanoke, an influential member of the Democratic Party on the local and state levels, died on February 16, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Cadd was a longtime member of Waverly Place Baptist Church and was an active member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union, which she also served as business agent; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Cadd was active in Democratic Party politics at the state and local levels for many years and was given a key to the City of Roanoke by former Mayor Noel Taylor in honor of her dedication and service; and

WHEREAS, Madeline Cadd will be sorely missed by her family, by the parishioners of Waverly Place Baptist Church, and by her countless friends and colleagues in the Roanoke community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with sadness the passing of an outstanding citizen of Roanoke, Madeline B. Cadd; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Madeline B. Cadd as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
