015448816Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. [ Notwithstanding the provisions of § 21-117.1 of the Code of
Virginia, ] The Moccasin Gap Sanitation Commission, located in Scott County,
is hereby abolished. Upon the effective date of this Act, all of the operations, responsibilities, obligations and
assets of the Commission shall be assumed and transferred to the Scott County Public Service Authority. Prior to the
transfer of operations, responsibilities, obligations and assets to the
Authority, the Commission shall seek to preserve the assets of the Commission
and shall not incur any expenses beyond those necessary to maintain its normal
operations. All assets transferred from the Commission to the Authority shall
be utilized by the Authority only within the Moccasin Gap Sanitation District
as it existed immediately prior to the effective date of this Act.
2. That Chapter 523, as amended, of the Acts of Assembly of 1948 is repealed.
