HOUSE BILL NO. 2608 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Transportation on February 2, 2001) (Patrons Prior to Substitute--Delegates Putney and Spruill [HB 2652]) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 46.2 a section numbered 46.2-749.49, relating to special license plates; clergy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 46.2 a section numbered 46.2-749.49 as follows:

§ 46.2-749.49. Special license plates; clergy.

On receipt of an application therefor and presentation of written evidence that the applicant is a member of the clergy, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates bearing the legend: CLERGY.
