010641884Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-258.2 as follows:
§ 18.2-258.2. Using prescriptions not as prescribed; penalty.
It shall be unlawful for any person to [ use introduce into the body ] a [
lawfully prescribed ] drug [ prescribed ] by a practitioner as defined in §
54.1-3401 in a manner inconsistent with the prescribed use if the [ sole ]
intent of the user is to become intoxicated [ , inebriated, excited,
stupefied, to dull the brain or nervous system, or to otherwise enhance the
action of the drug ] . A violation of this section is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
