014517672Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 10.1-202.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 10.1-202.1. Golden Passports established; access to facilities in state parks.
A. The Department of Conservation and Recreation shall establish a Golden Passport card that authorizes persons receiving social security disability payments to enter Virginia's state parks without having to pay an admittance or parking fee. Persons seeking such a card shall, upon the presentation of proof of receiving such disability payments, be issued a card by the Division of State Parks. The card shall remain valid during the time a person is receiving such payments.
B. The Department shall establish a Golden Passport Two card that entitles residents of Virginia, who (i) are over the age of 65 and (ii) pay an annual cost of $10, to a fifty percent reduction in fees charged for access to the following state park facilities and services: entrance/parking, use of camping facilities, park merchandise, equipment rentals, and shelter and amphitheater rentals. However, the holder of this card shall not be entitled to a discount on the rental fees charged for overnight accommodations in state park cabins. Persons seeking such a card shall, upon the presentation of proof of age and residency, be issued a card by the Division of State Parks.
