Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is by adding in Article 10 of Chapter 10 of Title 46.2 a section numbered 46.2-1088.2 as follows:
§ 46.2-1088.2. Warning devices required on certain vehicles.
Any vehicle used to sell food and other products in residential neighborhoods shall be equipped with a device or devices, in good working order, that, whenever the vehicle is operated in reverse gear, automatically display a light signal and emit an audible alarm signal. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to authorize such vehicles to be equipped with red, blue, or amber warning lights unless authorized under Article 3 (§ 46.2-1010 et seq.) of this chapter.
