CHAPTER 97 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 5 of Title 7.1 a section numbered 7.1-40.12, relating to the official fleet of the Commonwealth. [H 1728] Approved March 13, 2001

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 5 of Title 7.1 a section numbered 7.1-40.12 as follows:

§ 7.1-40.12. Official fleet of the Commonwealth.

The replicas of the three ships, Susan Constant, Godspeed, and Discovery, which comprised Virginia's founding fleet that brought the first permanent English settlers to Jamestown in 1607, and which are exhibited at the Jamestown Settlement museum in Williamsburg, are hereby designated the official fleet of the Commonwealth.
