CHAPTER 12 An Act to amend and reenact § 5.7 of Chapter 163 of the Acts of Assembly of 1979, which provided a charter for the Town of Parksley, relating to the chief of police. [H 2030] Approved February 14, 2001

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 5.7 of Chapter 163 of the Acts of Assembly of 1979 is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 5.7. Office of chief of police.

The office of sergeant chief of police for the town shall be established in the discretion of the council and if established shall be filled by appointment by the council and not by election by the town's voters.
