5. Require students to earn standard credits in classroom work and verified credits in performance on tests approved by the Board to receive a standard or advanced studies diploma. In awarding verified credits for performance on Standards of Learning assessments, the Board shall establish a formula whereby a student may earn a verified credit based upon such test performance in combination with the student's end-of-course grade in instances in which a student has been allowed to retake a Standards of Learning assessment and has scored within the established margin of error for such assessment. Such formula shall be applicable to students enrolled in grades six through nine in 2000-2001
