SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Education and job training programs and pastoral care services. Encourages the Departments of Corrections and Juvenile Justice Services to increase their educational programs and to strengthen and improve transition services in order to reduce recidivism among their respective populations. The Departments of Corrections and Juvenile Justice are also encouraged to provide more space and opportunities to accommodate inmates' needs for spiritual counseling and pastoral care. This resolution is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Status and Needs of African-American Males in Virginia.
