Requests the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Virginia Supreme Court, with assistance from the Joint Commission on Technology and Science, to study and develop a procedural scheme, by statute or by rules of evidence, for discovery of electronic data in civil cases.

Study; discovery of electronic data. Creates a joint subcommittee to study and develop a procedural scheme, by statute or by rules of evidence, for discovery of electronic data in civil cases. The joint subcommittee is to report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the 2001 General Assembly.
