SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; women participating in welfare reform. Requests the Department of Social Services to study the impact on women participating in the Commonwealth's welfare reform effort. The study will focus on education, training, job placement options, and services that women received, as well as the kinds of jobs and salaries that they obtained. The study will further explore current and potential strategies designed to inform women about training options leading to higher wage employment, as well as ways to encourage and support women transitioning from welfare to work.
