SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Voter services at DMV offices. Allows the office of a general registrar to be located in a DMV facility. The bill also moves the provision authorizing multijurisdictional staffing for voter registration offices in DMV facilities from the voter list section of the election laws to a more appropriate location under the duties and powers of the general registrar.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Voter services at DMV offices. Authorizes a pilot project to allow voter registrars regularly staffing voter registration offices at DMV facilities to set up in-person absentee voting at those DMV locations. The pilot project is for one year, from July 1, 2000, until July 1, 2001, and the State Board of Elections must approve the sites. The term "voter registration offices" is introduced to refer to the voter registration pilot projects at DMV facilities. Lastly, the provision authorizing multijurisdictional staffing for voter registration offices in DMV facilities is moved from the voter list section of the election laws to a more appropriate location under the duties and powers of the general registrar.
