SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Funeral processions; penalty. Prohibits impeding or disrupting escorted funeral processions. Violators would be subject to a fine up to $200 and four driver demerit points.
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Funeral processions; penalty. Provides for punishment of endangering a vehicle or its occupants in or escorts of funeral processions as reckless driving.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Funeral processions; penalty. Prohibits carelessly or recklessly endangering any funeral procession, any vehicle that is part of any funeral procession, or any police or sheriff's escort of a funeral procession. Violations are to be punished by a fine of $500 for a first offense, and by confinement in jail for ninety days for a second or subsequent offense.
