SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; VDOT study of local traffic light signal photo-enforcement (photo red) programs. Requests the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to study local traffic light signal photo-enforcement programs, including, specifically (i) providing technical assistance to those localities that are operating and implementing photo traffic enforcement systems; (ii) determining the specific inconsistencies existing in the operation of the various systems among the various pilot jurisdictions; (iii) developing recommendations to ensure that all photo enforcement systems operated in Virginia do so in a consistent and equitable manner; and (iv) monitoring the pilot photo-enforcement of traffic light signals traffic program.
