SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Forestry practices. Establishes a joint subcommittee to study the water quality and natural resource impacts of forestry activities and the effectiveness of Virginia’s forestry “bad actor” law, which was designed to protect water quality from poorly managed forestry activities. Specific approaches to be examined for improved protection of water quality include: logger-education programs, requiring the use of forestry best-management practices, and efforts to protect water quality in other states.
