SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Study; child day care services for low-income families. Requests the Department of Social Services, or, under certain conditions, the Commission on Early Childhood and Child Day Care Programs to study the funding of child day care for low-income families. If funds are not appropriated in the budget for assistance for child day care to low-income families, the study is shifted from the Department to the Commission. The study shall include an analysis of child day care needs of former Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients and low-income families and recommendations to ensure that low-income families have the child day care services that they need to become and remain economically independent.
