SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Virginia Public Procurement Act; discrimination prohibited. Adds age, disability or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment to the anti-discrimination statutes in the Virginia Public Procurement Act. As a result, (i) no public body may discriminate against a bidder or offeror on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment in the solicitation and award of public contracts and (ii) in all public contracts over $10,000, the contractor must agree not to discriminate against an employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment.
