SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Local income tax. Adds education as an additional purpose for which the local income tax may be used, provided at least fifty percent of the revenues collected by any county or city shall be expended for transportation purposes. The provision requiring any locality which imposes the tax to sunset it at the end of five years is repealed. If no locality enacts the tax by July 1, 2001, the entire local income tax article shall expire.
