SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Sales and use tax; Food Tax Reduction Program. Eliminates the 4.5 percent sales tax on food purchased for human consumption over a period beginning on January 1, 2000 and ending with the elimination of the tax by April 1, 2004.
