SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

University of Virginia; endowment funds. Vests flexibility in investing or reinvesting endowment funds by the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia. This provision authorizes the Board to invest or reinvest endowment funds in derivatives, options, and financial securities, including notes, stocks, treasury stocks, bonds, debentures, evidence of indebtedness, certificates of interest, etc. Present law authorizes the Board to invest and manage the endowment funds of the University in accordance with the provisions of the Uniform Management of Institutional Funds Act, which restricts investment authority. This bill is identical to SB 777.
