SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 53
On the death of Bradley Curtis McNeer.

WHEREAS, Bradley Curtis McNeer, a Chesterfield County firefighter, died in the line of duty on Saturday, December 18, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Bradley McNeer was born on June 22, 1977, and was a graduate of Trinity Episcopal High School in 1996, where he was a standout basketball star who helped carry Trinity to the State Championship; and

WHEREAS, interested in firefighting, Bradley McNeer joined the Bon Air Volunteer Division of the Chesterfield Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, completing his fire department training in August 1999 and his Emergency Medical Services training in December 1999; and

WHEREAS, Bradley's selfless service to his community made him beloved by all those who came in contact with him; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of Bradley Curtis McNeer and the sacrifice of his young life; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Bradley Curtis McNeer as an expression of the esteem in which his memory is held.
