SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 257
Commending the Central High School Future Farmers of America Chapter.

WHEREAS, the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter from Central High School of Woodstock was named the 1999 First Place Chapter in Virginia and received the highest three-star rating in the National Chapter contest; and

WHEREAS, the Central High School FFA forestry team won the 1999 State FFA Forestry Judging Career Development event and won third place in the 1999 National FFA Forestry Judging Career Development event among teams from 38 states; and

WHEREAS, Central team member Bradley Orndorff placed ninth in the nation, and team members Trip French, Andy Wakeman, and Mark Brill all earned gold ratings for their judging; and

WHEREAS, the Central High School food science and technology team won the 1999 State FFA Food Science and Technology Career Development event and placed sixth in the national event; and

WHEREAS, team members Meredith Hoffman, Rebecca Coffman, Renee Sine, and Vicki Heishman all received silver ratings; and

WHEREAS, the Central High School meat judging team won the 1999 State FFA Meat Judging Career Development event; and

WHEREAS, team members Becky Heishman, Alesia Hovatter, Jennifer Stultz, and Abbi Copp all earned silver ratings; and

WHEREAS, Central High School Chapter Advisors Sherry Heishman and George Bowers molded the considerable individual talents of the Central FFA members into a top-ranked chapter; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend the Central High School Future Farmers of America Chapter on its excellent showing in the 1999 competition; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Central High School Future Farmers of America Chapter officers in honor of the outstanding performance of the Central High School Future Farmers of America.
