Celebrating the life of Mae Julia McInnis.

WHEREAS, Mae Julia McInnis of Virginia Beach, a devoted member of the First Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A., died on September 21, 1999; and

WHEREAS, a native of Carpenter, Mississippi, Mae Julia McInnis was the matriarch of a large and devoted family of three daughters, two sons, 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, a faithful member of the First Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A., Mae Julia McInnis was active with the women’s auxiliaries; and

WHEREAS, Mae Julia McInnis was also instrumental in establishing scheduled activities and learning experiences for children at the district and diocese levels and at the National Convention of the church; and

WHEREAS, a well-respected citizen and a leader in her church, Mae Julia McInnis will be sorely missed by her large and loving family, by the parishioners of the First Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A., and by her many friends in the Tidewater community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine Virginian, Mae Julia McInnis; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Mae Julia McInnis as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
