2000 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 7.1-41 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 7.1-41. Use of Senate armorial bearings.
The utilization of any armorial bearings adopted by the Senate of Virginia as their official armorial bearings shall carry the following protections:
1. Only current and former members of the Senate of Virginia and the Clerk of the Senate shall have the authority to utilize such armorial bearings or any facsimile or representations thereof.
2. Representations of such armorial bearings used by current members of the
Senate shall be colored gold.
3. Representations of such armorial bearings used by former members of the
Senate shall be colored blue.
4. 3. Such use shall not be for any commercial purpose.
5. 4. Any person violating the provisions of subdivision 1 herein shall be
punished as for a Class 3 misdemeanor. Any person violating the provisions of
subdivisions 2, and 3, or 4 herein shall be punished as for a Class 4
misdemeanor.
