006520992WHEREAS, Judy Gulledge received her bachelor’s degree in science from Mankato State University and her master’s degree in education from Clemson University; and
WHEREAS, Judy Gulledge has taught with distinction in the Norfolk public schools since 1984; and
WHEREAS, during the course of her career, Judy Gulledge has been honored repeatedly and has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; and
WHEREAS, Judy Gulledge has been closely involved in the development of the Maritime Pathways Project at Northside Middle School in Norfolk, where the Walker-Heilig Aqua Lab is located; and
WHEREAS, a teacher in the Pennywinkle Project, Judy Gulledge led her students through literary and scientific exploration to develop Pennywinkle, a student-produced oral history of the Chesapeake Bay islands; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Judy Gulledge on her role in the production of Pennywinkle, an outstanding student project; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Judy Gulledge as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for her dedication to the education of the young people of Norfolk.
