Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 22.1-277.02:1 as follows:

§ 22.1-277.02:1. Suspension and expulsion for profane or obscene language.

A. Consistent with the procedures set forth in § 22.1-277, school boards shall provide for the suspension and expulsion from school attendance of students for use of profane or obscene language.

B. Each school board shall revise its standards of student conduct to incorporate the requirements of this section no later than three months after the date on which this act becomes effective.
