Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 47.1-20.01 as follows:

§ 47.1-20.01. Notary fees for inmates.

Prisoners committed to the Department of Corrections shall be assessed a fee in accordance with § 47.1-19 for all notarial acts except the notarization of documents required by the courts. All fees collected in accordance with this section shall be paid into the fund established under § 53.1-27.
