Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 20-124.6 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 20-124.6. Access to child's records.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, neither parent [ , regardless of whether such parent has custody, ] shall be denied access to the academic, medical, hospital or other health records of that parent's minor child unless otherwise ordered by the court for good cause shown. [ This section applies to any parent, regardless of whether such parent has custody or not. ]
