005506748Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 1 of Title 46.2 a section numbered 46.2-116 as follows:
§ 46.2-116. Displaying or offering of certain vehicles for sale prohibited; penalty.
No person shall display or offer for sale any registered motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer at any location other than the address shown on the vehicle's registration card unless the person displaying or offering such vehicle for sale (i) shall have obtained written permission to do so from the owner of the property on which such vehicle is displayed or offered for sale and (ii) such written permission is posted on such vehicle. The provisions of this section shall not apply to vehicles held in inventory by dealers licensed under Chapter 15 (§ 46.2-1500 et seq.), 19 (§ 46.2-1900 et seq.), 19.1 (§ 46.2-1992), or 19.2 (§ 46.2-1993). Violation of any provision of this section shall constitute a Class 4 misdemeanor.
