Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That §§ 24.2-437 and 24.2-441 of the Code of Virginia are amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 24.2-437. Application for temporary registration.

Any person intending to register and vote under the provisions of this article shall apply in person or by mail to the registrar of the county or city of his residence at least thirty days prior to the presidential election. The application shall be on a form prescribed by the State Board, shall be signed by the applicant who shall provide, subject to felony penalties for making false statements pursuant to § 24.2-1016, the information required for registration under § 24.2-418 and the applicant's immediate previous place of abode and address.

§ 24.2-441. Application for temporary registration.

Any person intending to register and vote under the provisions of this article shall apply by mail to the general registrar of the county or city in which he wishes to vote at least thirty days prior to the federal election. The application shall be on a form prescribed or approved by the State Board. The application shall be signed by the applicant who shall provide, subject to felony penalties for making false statements pursuant to § 24.2-1016, the information required for registration under § 24.2-418, the applicant's resident address of previous domicile in Virginia and date of departure from this domicile, if applicable, and any information necessary to implement the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (42 U.S.C. § 1973ff et seq.).
