HOUSE BILL NO. 1312 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Appropriations on February 11, 2000) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Almand) A BILL to provide for the increase in fees for court-appointed counsel.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the fees for court-appointed counsel set out in §§ 16.1-267 and 19.2-163 of the Code of Virginia shall be increased each fiscal year by the same amount as the rate of growth in general fund revenues in relation to the immediately preceding fiscal year. In the event that general fund revenues do not increase for any fiscal year there shall be no adjustment to the fees.

2. That the provisions of this act shall become effective July 1, 2001.
