004915904Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-1812.1 as follows:
§ 15.2-1812.1. Action for damage to memorials for war veterans.
The local government attorney, in any locality in which a publicly owned monument, marker or memorial as designated in § 15.2-1812 or § 18.2-137 is located, may bring an action against any person who damages such monument, marker or memorial in order to recover the full cost of repairing such damage. Any private organization, society or museum that owns any such monument, marker or memorial may bring an action against any person who damages such monument, marker or memorial in order to recover the full cost of repairing such damage.
