Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 20-14.2 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 20-14.2. Health information to be furnished to applicants for license.

Every person who is empowered to issue a marriage license shall, at the time of issuance thereof, distribute the following to the applicants for the license: birth control information, information concerning the role of folic acid in the prevention of genetic disorders, information concerning birth defects, information concerning acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and the available tests to determine the presence or absence of the disease, and, in addition, such person may, upon request, provide birth control information and a list of family planning clinics located in the county or city of the issuing office. Such lists and information shall be furnished by the Virginia State Department of Health.
