CHAPTER 801 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 2 of Title 4.1 a section numbered 4.1-240, relating to alcoholic beverage control; payment of taxes and fees by credit or debit cards. [H 747] Approved April 9, 2000

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 2 of Title 4.1 a section numbered 4.1-240 as follows:

§ 4.1-240. Collection of taxes and fees by credit or debit card; service charge.

The Board may accept credit or debit cards in payment for the taxes, penalties or other fees imposed on a licensee in accordance with this title. In addition, the Board may assess a service charge for the use of a credit or debit card. The service charge shall not exceed the amount negotiated and agreed to in a contract with the Department.
