CHAPTER 766 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding sections numbered 46.2-746.4:2 and 46.2-746.6:2 and by adding in Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 46.2 sections numbered 46.2-749.32, 46.2-749.33, and 46.2-749.34 and to repeal §§ 46.2-746.4:1 and 46.2-746.6:1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to special license plates; submarine service veterans; supporters of the American Red Cross; naval aviators; insurance agents; supporters of the Family and Children's Trust Fund; fees. [S 34] Approved April 9, 2000

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 46.2-746.4:2 and 46.2-746.6:2 and by adding in Article 10 of Chapter 6 of Title 46.2 sections numbered 46.2-749.32, 46.2-749.33, and 46.2-749.34 as follows:

§ 46.2-746.4:2. Special license plates for submarine service veterans.

On receipt of an application and written evidence that the applicant is a submarine service veteran, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates to submarine service veterans.

§ 46.2-746.6:2. Special license plates for supporters of the American Red Cross.

On receipt of an application, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates to supporters of the American Red Cross.

§ 46.2-749.32. Special license plates; naval aviators.

On receipt of an application and written evidence that the applicant is or has been a naval aviator, the Commissioner shall issue to the applicant special license plates.

§ 46.2-749.33. Special license plates; insurance agents.

On receipt of an application therefor, the Commissioner shall issue to the applicant special license plates bearing the legend: INSURANCE AGENT.

§ 46.2-749.34. Special license plates for supporters of Family and Children's Trust Fund; fees.

On receipt of an application and payment of the fee prescribed by this section, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates for supporters of the Family and Children's Trust Fund.

The annual fee for plates issued pursuant to this section shall be twenty-five dollars plus the prescribed fee for state license plates. For each such twenty-five-dollar fee collected in excess of 1,000 registrations pursuant to this section, fifteen dollars shall be paid into the state treasury and credited to the Family and Children's Trust Fund.

2. That §§ 46.2-746.4:1 and 46.2-746.6:1 of the Code of Virginia are repealed.
