CHAPTER 158 An Act to amend Chapter 30 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978, which provided a charter for the Town of New Castle, by adding a section numbered 4.8, relating to appointments to planning commission and board of zoning appeals. [H 206] Approved March 24, 2000

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That Chapter 30 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978 is amended by adding a section numbered 4.8 as follows:

§ 4.8. Appointments to planning commission and board of zoning appeals.

The town council may appoint a planning commission consisting of at least three members. One member of the commission may be a member of council and one member of the commission may be a member of the administrative branch of the town.

The town council may appoint a board of zoning appeals consisting of at least three members. One member of the board may be a member of the town planning commission.

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
